Adinazolam(Deracyn) is a sedative drug, a tranquilizer of the triazolobenzodiazepine or benzodiazepines class connected to a trizole ring. This drug is an antidepressant, anticonvulsant, anxiolytic. This drug was developed as a replacement for alprazolam by Dr. Jackson B. Hester, who wanted to enhance its antidepressant properties. But this drug has not been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and has never been used in medicine accordingly.
\nThe actions of adinazolam are due to the fact that when taken, it binds to peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptors and interacts with GABA receptors, which leads to a sedative effect.
\nIn adinazolam, the main metabolite is N-desmethyladinazolam, and NDMAD has approximately 25-fold affinity for benzodiazepine receptors compared to its predecessor, which explains the benzodiazepine-like effects after oral administration.
\nWith high dosages of adinazolam, side effects are possible, such as muscle weakness, ataxia, dysarthria, or vice versa, arousal, as well as decreased reflexes, and it is even possible to fall into a coma.<\/p>\n
